What I liked

This show had breathtaking set and sound design!! WOW! The costuming for everyone was also on-point and the lighting adding a very nice enhancement to the environment! I felt that the ensemble of WISPS were WONDERFUL! Collectively, through their singing, movement, and unique personalities, they helped tell this story beautifully! ÁKOS JÓNÁS has quite the future in theatre ahead for him!

What I didn't like

As beautiful as this show was to behold, I do think the staging needed improvement. Many times, actors had their backs to the audience and were delivering lines upstage and that made it very difficult to hear them. Additionally, some actors were singing so softly, it was impossible to understand the lyrics that were being sung.

Dramaturgically, as Fetch was meant to be more mystical or mysterious, she wasn’t a clear antagonist. The protagonists need someone or someones who directly oppose them. Without more conflict or sense of urgency, the story meandered along and just lost some of its steam.

My overall impression

Walking into the Zephyr theatre, you are immediately transported into a gorgeous forest realm! With beautiful sound effects aplenty, the setting welcomes the audience to go on this ambitious musical journey of two siblings that were emotionally (and physically) lost and how they were able to find each other again. The messaging was heartfelt, albeit, a little confusing sometimes as the music overshadowed some of the singing voices.
