I loved the pace and energy of the show! Devon is such a skilled storyteller. I wanted to cradle her, laugh with her, and dance to the shitty beats haha. It was so fun to see Devon display all the skeletons in her closet with a self-assurance that makes you want to laugh at all your mistakes instead of wallow in shame. She owned her shit and it was a damn pleasure to witness.
What I didn't like
Lowkey wanted a song written by current day Devon :)
My overall impression
Umm, this chick is so cool. The show was nostalgic, self-aware, and tragic. Comedy= tragedy + time. Pop Star embodies this saying. Devon takes us on a hilarious ride on what it was like to chase pop stardom as a teenager. She shows us all her scars with a smile on her face and a nod to the horror of the industry.
