What I liked
I liked how fun the songs were… Devon’s fearlessness to even share this part of her life… and of course, seeing the actual videos and photos of her as a kid/teen were a highlight, too. BravO.
What I didn't like
Honestly, I’d take even more depth, but the show was great the way it was. I’m sure lurking below is a decent amount of pain (which is alluded to) but comedically, it was top notch.
My overall impression
Pop Star is a fun show and it was a great way to start off the fringe. It’s funny, personal, and ‘real’, with little to no self pity. Whu?!! As a show, it’s basically a digestible, foot tapping, head bopping romp. To top it off, Devon is an extremely likable and talented performer/singer. As an audience member, you’re in good hands with Devon at the helm!
