Pop Star

Devon had me laughing, shrieking, gasping, giggling, and of (course cringing) from the moment she stepped on stage. Pop star is tightly produced and rehearsed. It’s clear that a lot of care and thought was put into the structure of the show. Every moment is filled with a joke, new song, a music video or SOMETHING. There was never a dull moment. Not to mention that the story is absolutely insane. Each anecdote more ridiculous than the last. Devon recounts her misadventures with grace, humility, and a sharp sense of humor. This was just a delight to watch and I have found myself talking to people about it all day! One of the best you will see at fringe.... full review

A hilarious, appropriately cringe inducing and completely heartfelt retelling of the of Devon's experience as a little girl whose dreams of being a performer were taken advantage of at every opportunity. Devon is such a seasoned performer - she has such a casual command of the stage that leaves the audience feeling well cared for. This show is so tight, funny, earnest, and poignant. A coworker dragged me and boy am I GRATEFUL. Devon bares all in this show and I laughed so hard. I was annoying as shit the next day cuz I kept on quoting her songs verbatim at work. But I don’t care. Would see the show again and listening to Shy Guy on repeat. Hope Netflix makes one of these cuz it was THAT good. I know what good shit is and this is that shit.
