What I liked
The beginning with the amoeba and tree and reptile and monkey was so fun. I have not stopped thinking about George’s eye then nose then mouth then eye poking out of the hole(s) in his costumes. My other favorite moment was George reading affirmations out loud wearing a dinosaur mask and claws with his street clothes.
What I didn't like
The show felt like two different concepts that didn’t congeal fully. I wanted more of the animals/evolutionary beings, and wish the themes of self doubt and connection to others was incorporated into the evolution.
My overall impression
Soft Animal has so many fun play elements that kept me entertained. There’s silent/mask/eyehole play and idiot bits and the whole show has such a nice fun sweetness throughout.
