A one man show that feels far more expansive. George has made a highly nuanced piece about the journey of humans from soft gooey primordial animal to soft internet saturated animal. His clowning work is expert and engages at every step. The trip (feels a little like a trip!) is inventive, distinctive, wholly unique and showcases a singular creative voice. Special shoutout to Rachel Troy for playful direction, stunning visuals and a clear mind-meld with her actor. Go just for the meteor show! I hope "Soft Animal" has a life beyond Fringe. ...

Soft Animal is ambitious, playful, silly, and activating. I've seen multiple iterations of this show and I'm always fully invested and surprised by what George brings to each moment. This show perfectly displays George's exceptional clowning, improvisation, writing, and character acting. He's so skilled. It's just a pleasure to watch him fly. ...

I really liked it, so much so that I might even say I loved it. It made just enough sense where it needed to, but otherwise left room for lots of absurdity. George is SO captivating, from the very first glimpse of his eyeball. Incredible physicality in so many different embodiments. He holds in balance the duality of being both a charismatic cult leader, and just a scared little worm. Pains that anyone with an overactive ego are all too familiar with. There was heart and depth, but more over there was silliness and whimsy. The crowd was engaged and generous. ...
