What I liked

The authenticity of story and the celebration of community and sovereignty are so beautifully engaged. Great idea to have the show be outside in tents and a derelict van.

My overall impression

Vanlyfe brilliantly engages its audience into the micro-world of the unhoused. Audience members are asked for assistance and invited to share in the bounty of food surplus (like pancakes, chips, flowers, etc.). Trans and gender non-binary identities, drug use and mental illness are so tenderly engaged that one almost believes that the actors are portraying themselves.
