It was such a beautiful story. I loved how much the story helped us connect with the characters on an emotional level. The cast also engaged the audience in an inclusive, comfortable way. I was also touched that the play gave hygiene kits to the audience, reminding us to extend this connection beyond to the unhoused community afterwards. I also liked that a list of organizations was shared for people to look into working with.
What I didn't like
I have no feedback. I adored everything.
My overall impression
Vanlyfe is a story where we witness harsh realities that unhoused people face, but also the hope that comes with the support of friendships and chosen family. In a world so cruel to people who are unhoused, this story gives a much needed voice for the community. It is a reminder we must all extend kindness every day.
