What I liked
The comedic timing is immaculate due each performer playing their character to the fullest and their presence feeds into the dynamic of other characters, which create a comedic situation to the audience. It’s a massive compliment to get a laugh out while they were rapping because of how funny they are. Speaking of, the music is fun and easy to follow through as the audience are able to understand what is being said and what the characters are going through.
What I didn't like
I would’ve like to see how Stephen’s relationship with Vanessa could’ve shaped out to be. I get how it may be tough given their respective characteristics, but they have mutual interests and it would be interesting to see how he changes his views on Vanessa once (and to avoid spoilers) the cat is out of the bag for him earlier. All in all I do think he could’ve been more involved in the story.
My overall impression
Transpiring is a witty, campy show that’s full of charm and fun. It doesn’t shy away from sensitive topics but always find a way to get a laugh in. It doesn’t take itself too serious, but also does not cheapen or sully their message. A perfect blend of fun and witty.
