The attention to detail Maria provides is insane. She is able to portray several different characters in a way that makes the audience easy to identify them. She flawlessly transitions from character to character without hesitation. Being one person, yet still making these characters seem so different is quite the feat—everything from the accents, posture, mannerisms, and even the facial expressions is unique to each character.
I also really loved the audience involvement. It made me feel as if I was a part of the show, not just a spectator.
What I didn't like
I wish this play could have been longer. I feel that there is so much I know about Theresa, but so much more that I could learn. It was a cliff hanger and I need more! I’m too invested!
My overall impression
The storyline is captivating and the acting is sublime! This is the second live show I have seen from this artist and WOW, it blew me away. Maria is an incredibly talented writer and actress who seamlessly portrays several people with wildly different personalities, and she does so with ease. This piece really showcases her talent and versatility. It was funny, yet dark and thought provoking, leaving the viewer emotionally invested in Theresa Tottle and what will happen next.
