His examination of the cycle of trauma.
His constant check in with the audience as he seeks their consent, their approval and their votes as he makes some of his BIG and mostly BAD decisions. We as audience enable him, laugh at him and as audience we are conspirators encouraging him to make decisions that will lead to the end of his life and then we literally kill him – and then in existential twist worthy of Beckett and Pinter we begin again and the cycle of trauma abuse and ultimately death begin again. It’s a comedy. It’s actually brilliant and lovely.
