Some shows are good. Some shows are really good. Some shows are really f*cking good. And then there's BABY. Rachel Troy has achieved something truly remarkable. She's hit upon something so deeply honest, so gutturally funny, and so perfectly raw and human. 10/10 Absolutely Must See, f*cking brilliant, inspiring piece of art. ...

BABY deserves to win TOP OF FRINGE. Baby is extremely precise while being deliciously messy. Baby is a clown show, a therapist devolving into a mutated mirror for the audience, a distinct and disturbing baby’s “Waaaaaaa” from a beautiful artist! I trust Rachael on stage to cradle us and to ask to be cradled. The way she handled the incredibly difficult and vulnerable audience interaction was incredibly creative, professional and pushing. ...

Actually genius. Best of Fringe. An incredible deconstruction of trauma and understanding of the human condition. Told brilliantly via highest level clowning, characterization, actual therapy, and dramatic monologue. Genre-breaking, fierce, and fucking hilarious. ...

A Fringe must see! Comedically and boldly beautiful in its exploration of how we all become the humans we are today and the therapist who help us get there. One moment I was belly laughing at the unmistakable truths Rachel laid on the table and the next I was crying from recognition that those truths were also my own. Get your booty to this show and get ready to feel all the feels!...

This is a really solid show. One of the few I saw at Fringe that felt fully baked. Rachel is hilarious and also poignant. I felt like I learned something about attachment theory and left the theater having a lot to reflect on about relationships and our shared need for unconditional love and connection. Rachel found the delicate balance between light and heavy, real and surreal, informative and emotional. I want Rachel to be my therapist!!...

I laughed so hard I cried until I cried. I’ve watched this show grow from even babier and I’m in awe every time I see it. Baby is a love letter to moms, to anyone with a mom or a mom-like figure, to artists struggling with choosing their art, and to therapists. Somehow Rachel took a scientific theory that’s become somewhat popularized and taught us about it through showing and telling, effortlessly demonstrating not just what attachment theory is but how it works and how we can heal....
