It was so relaxing to be the audience of a trained and experienced professional. You have the feeling of being taken care of, no fear of being embarrassed, dragged onto the stage, or the performing faltering. The elegance of her writing in this regard, the choices she makes with her improv, is the best I’ve seen. Even when you feel like the person on stage may have to answer a question or respond ‘for real’, she has you in the palm of her hand, safe and sound. At the end we were all family, and definitely all BABY.
What I didn't like
The other shows in the theater were quite loud at times, but Rachel adapted to – and even played with – the interruptions masterfully.
My overall impression
Rachel Troy delivered one of the best shows I’ve seen in years. She is a shockingly good actress, shifting seamlessly between characters that move you in different and deep ways. It’s hilarious yet dramatic, current yet timeless, organized yet still a clown show. I mean, at the end, there were several people loudly weeping and this was after 45 mins of laughing hysterically. I LOVED this show! Someone get this woman on SNL!
