Alli has an infectious energy and sense of humor that drives the show forward. This was evident even in the handful of moments when the comedy gives way to more contemplative beats. I also loved the framing device of the eulogy, and that the audience is attending the wake. It’s a small detail, but one that set the show apart from other one-person shows that I’ve seen.

My overall impression
Who knew that grief could be so funny? Alli Miller-Fisher, for one. ICECATS beautifully grapples with the messy muddle of emotions that follows a loved-one’s passing: the pain of the loss, the bittersweet remembrance of better times, the humor at the absurdity of it all. And, as advertised: ice cats. Oh boy, are there ice cats.
