What I liked
The relationships between doppelgängers Simone and Angie, Katie Kate and fan fiction Stalin, young and old Mary Ann; the whiteboard drawings made in the moment.
What I didn't like
The energy shift when we follow Katie Kate into her imagination is so engaging and interesting, I wondered if perhaps it could come earlier in the show. I would also have loved to see more examples of Katie Kate’s power tripping, attempting to manage/control group’s behavior.
My overall impression
An ambitious undertaking about middle school kids under a lockdown (drill?)—a nostalgic set and fun 2012 soundtrack, but the play really shines in its pairings.
