About the Project
The story of NERVES centers around the characters of SARAH and JOSEPH, two former lovers who haven’t seen each other in decades. And then … the phone rings … sending SARAH into an emotional tailspin of what-ifs and could-have-beens, giving the audience a sneak-peak into her memories as she struggles to make sense of it all. Can she heal from the past to make room for the future? Or will the cycle of heartache repeat itself?
The play opens with Sarah, arriving at the designated meeting spot. The stage is mostly bare, save for maybe a couple of benches, a lamp-post. As she waits, her memories wash over her. But what will Joseph be like this time? Will he forgive her? Clearly, he called, so he must have forgiven her. Right? But, what will they even … say? After so much heartache, is there even anything to say?
