Courtney Kruse’s delightful stage convention (no spoilers) brings magic and context to the show.
What I didn't like
No notes, completely satisfied!
My overall impression
MUSTSEE! THIS is why we go to the theater; to watch ducks, separated from their flock, float in an existential and very real crisis.
Aaron Francis’ script is a parable that could be told by Lao Tzu, Sartre or Christ and explores LEADERSHIP, IDENTITY, and FREEDOM without opinion or judgment where the only conclusions drawn are our own. It is funny, thought-provoking, and sincere.
Performed and puppeted masterfully by Monica Howe and Joe Jordan, the two-hander never devolves into combativeness, what-aboutism, or even one-upmanship. Jordan’s pragmatism and Howe’s incessant exploration reveal a profound relationship; built on mutual respect and able to handle life’s differences with dignity and grace. We should all communicate so!
