What really worked for me was the chemistry between the three sisters. You could feel the relationships between them so clearly. It comes a lot from the writing but the performances really sold the words on the page. I loved the delving into Eloise’s mind about her specific anxieties, having those intrusive thoughts literally be intrusive into her head space.
What I didn't like
The only thing that bumped me was the transitions between the “dream” sequences and reality. The lighting cues were helpful but there was in particular where I second guessed whether it had been just in the character’s head or actually happened. I don’t know how to make it clearer but it’s something to consider.
My overall impression
The show was very well performed and written. There’s a lot of fast-paced, witty dialogue, that really helps sell the characters’ states of mind. It’s a great piece in showing the hereditary nature of mental illnesses, particularly anxiety but also gives a very specific point of view about OCD. It’s emotionally heart-wrenching but also humorous. A great ebb and flow of emotional peaks. Highly recommend people check it out. I’d see it again!
