The premise was so clever – ruining all my favorite childhood books, haha – but on top of that, I loved how there were so many layers. It wasn’t just about the books, but there was a deeper layer where Phil tied in his own stories – and he wasn’t afraid to get very deep and vulnerable. I thought it was so brave the deeply personal stories he chose to tell and relate back to the childhood lessons. I loved the mix of hilarious jokes with emotionally impactful and even sad moments sometimes.
What I didn't like
Honestly, I can’t think of anything that could have been improved.
My overall impression
The show was funny, fresh, and emotionally authentic. I was laughing the entire time throughout, and it was also thought provoking and really made me rethink all of these children’s books and their “lessons” that I used to take for granted.
