What I liked

Chris & Tiffany made me laugh, and they were great red herrings in unpuzzling the overall mystery. Loved the use of VO & text messages, particularly the dreaded “three dots” — great direction from Becca McGlynn!

What I didn't like

The plot to torture Duncan was awfully nefarious — I was glad to see the consequences for his mistakes catch up to him, but admittedly wondered about the unspoken behind-the-scenes. It would be interesting to see Penny with more stage time, especially in conversation with her guests!

My overall impression

If you’ve ever had a lying, two-faced boyfriend or a surprise encounter with “the other woman,” buckle up — this play places both of these characters at the heart of a blackmail conspiracy and one very awkward birthday party. The evening is full of suspense, deceit, and some delightful dark humor. Everyone’s a suspect, but the ending is a satisfying surprise!
