What I liked

His father was so funny and so present even when he said nothing. The most heartfelt and funny moments where when the two spoke directly to each other. I loved the set, I loved the vulnerability, and I loved that I didn’t understand some moments in Spanish and I didn’t have to. They weren’t for me. They were for him and his dad.

What I didn't like

Keep going! Do it again!

My overall impression

A heartfelt, funny, compassionate look at a father and son’s complicated life together. So many beautiful and vulnerable moments were shared with us and the presence of his father on stage made the urgency and risk of unpacking his truth so palpable in the Theatre. The addition of the clock made the audience incredibly aware of time passing and the limited time we have left with our elders. I couldnt imagine sharing truths like this in front of my father and that made the jokes funnier, it made the stories more heartbreaking, and it made the audience hang on every word.
