I love the themes of how there is no one way to love and no one way to parent....

Habla y te Salvas will make you laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time. Christopher and his father are beautiful to see together on that stage because you can see the care between them but also the generational and cultural gaps that can cause tension and misunderstandings. Christopher coming to terms with the messiness of his relationship with his father and the things that do get lost in translation as a “No Sabo Kid” is so relatable to any kid with an immigrant parent....

A story of the complex relationship between a father and a son. Christopher is a talented storyteller and you feel the love he has for his Father. He doesn't shy away from uncomfortable moments and lets the audience sit in the venerability. You feel every emotion on this journey. A unique theater experience like no other I have witnessed. Allowing to be seen for the good and bad from both points of view gives the audience a way into our own lived experience with our family. ...

This show was incredible. I was absolutely blown away by Christopher's storytelling abilities, but his vulnerability is what really made this show sing. When I first heard what Christopher's show was about, I didn't know what to expect; but seeing the show come to fruition after months of preparation and anticipation for his father to join him in Hollywood totally exceeded my expectations. It's clear that though his father is a ham, he is not a professional performer. The unpredictability and rawness of this show created an incredibly unique experience that can never be replicated - and that is the beauty of live performance....

This show was singular in what it attempted to do and its execution. First of all, the title of the show, Habla y te Salvas is wonderful and encapsulates the themes of the show so beautifully. It's very hard to play with form in a way that feels different than anything an audience member has seen before. This show does just that. There were so many aspects of the show that I found relatable to my own life as a child of immigrants-language barriers, cultural differences, machismo, strained familial relationships, and hope that despite it all-connection and love can be nurtured. ...

A heartfelt, funny, compassionate look at a father and son's complicated life together. So many beautiful and vulnerable moments were shared with us and the presence of his father on stage made the urgency and risk of unpacking his truth so palpable in the Theatre. The addition of the clock made the audience incredibly aware of time passing and the limited time we have left with our elders. I couldnt imagine sharing truths like this in front of my father and that made the jokes funnier, it made the stories more heartbreaking, and it made the audience hang on every word. ...

Impactful. Real. Emotional. Heartbreaking. Funny. This solo-ish show is such a beautiful, raw, genuine experience that Christopher gifts to the audience. It truly is a gift, as the audience gets to witness, in front of their eyes, the relationship between a father and a son unfold and develop. What a raw thing it is to see, live, as they work through their real-life struggles. Christopher is a beautiful storyteller, and has such a deep, real, vulnerable presence on stage. ...
