I've never seen a show where a son shares the stage with his biological father and much of the dynamic is unscripted, raw and authentic! It was quickly apparent that father and son have inhabited two different worlds, not just in personality, temperament and language but also literally, as they were once estranged. They have now reunited to mine through their messy relationship right in front of us, in a loosely scripted format in real time. Habla y te Salvas will make you laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time. Christopher and his father are beautiful to see together on that stage because you can see the care between them but also the generational and cultural gaps that can cause tension and misunderstandings. Christopher coming to terms with the messiness of his relationship with his father and the things that do get lost in translation as a “No Sabo Kid” is so relatable to any kid with an immigrant parent.... full review
