Taking our beloved sci-fi tv shows/movies and marrying it to our favorite family sitcom was an awesome idea. In both of these genres there would be those "episodes" that addressed very serious topics, that were a bit outside of the box for that tv show... but we loved it, the media loved it, and the culture loved it. That is what Blacks in Space did very well. Bravo!...

This show was out of this world, in the infamous words of Malcolm. I love that each character had a monologue and had their chance to shine. This sci-fi fantasy setting didn’t distract from the relatability and chemistry of the cast. There was a good mix of drama and comedy. The nonbinary AI voice joke killed. And of course you would listen to Motown music in space. There’s no other way that would have worked out. Anyone at any stage in their life can relate and would enjoy Blacks in Space. I’m so glad I spent my Juneteenth in this space shuttle with the actors and the audience! ...
