Serena’s vulnerability was palpable. Every woman in the audience could see herself in Serena. It gave us permission to feel, to be bold, to accept where we have been silenced and reject that as status quo. Seeing Jimmy battle it out and stand in his own right as a man who thinks he himself is victim to the patriarchy, watching him make sense of his judgements and flaws, and then seeing the truth of his softness and kindness towards a vulnerable Serena is what we are so desperate for in society. Hear us, walk beside us, open the door for us, not just figuratively but emotionally.
What I didn't like
I wanted to see more of Jimmy and Serena and their relationship behind the scenes. Hoping for a series coming soon!
My overall impression
This is the way forward to bring everyone to the table about feminism, pleasure, and having autonomy over your story, your body, your truth.
