Lola really anchored this piece with a sublime, sweet, twisted sense of humor. It made her more vulnerable moments all the more heartbreaking. Laura Dominguez and Allan Williams also do commendable work bouncing between multiple characters and keeping the play moving forward with very inventive physical work.
What I didn't like
I think the play can be consolidated. There are many lovely moments that might feel all the more impactful in a shorter run time.
My overall impression
“How can you live when everyone else just expects you to exist?” Maybe I’ll Plant My Stories is an effective, moving, funny story about holding on to your imagination in the face of growing up. Lola Darzens effortlessly guides us through this dream world/real world with self-effacing humor and genuine, raw emotion.
