Val is what many today aspire to be, she is a social media influencer with 1.2 million followers. She is loved by many, and her lifestyle is fabulous. Val can’t believe she has tested positive for HIV. Or has she?

Have you been tested in the last year? Do you know that about 1 in 4 new HIV infections is among youth, ages 13-24? Do you know that women between the ages of 25-39 are 40% of all new HIV diagnoses among women? Did you know that the number of women diagnosed with HIV is on the rise and has been rising for the last 8yrs? Did you know that every 9.5 seconds someone is being infected with HIV? Did you know that every 35 minutes a woman in the United States is diagnosed with HIV? Do you know that 85% of women living with HIV in the United States were infected through heterosexual sex? If you answered no to most of those questions, here are two reasons why: 1- Many seem to have forgotten about HIV, therefore no one is talking about it much anymore. 2- No one is talking about HIV and women when there are discussions about HIV.
Although Rahvaunia is not HIV positive, she uses her talents, platform, and gifts to help spread awareness and encourage others to get tested and/or in treatment.
