The openness and directness of the relationship Olivia builds with the audience almost immediately. She’s unabashed and quickly allows the audience into her circle of trust to talk frankly about love, relationships, and pitfalls of the modern dating scene. If you’re single, married, monogamous, “ethically poly”, abstaining, or out 24/7 to sample the sexual platter of humanity, you’ll get something out of this show.
What I didn't like
I really appreciated the read story – and it’s pretty evident how it all ties in, but I sort of feel it creates a tiny lull in the show. Perhaps if the comedy of that cat story was punched up just a hair it might fit more seamlessly into the rest of the 7-parts.
My overall impression
Truthfully I was brought to this show by my partner and had no idea what to expect, which is sometimes a good thing. I was unprepared for the nuance, humor, breadth, depth, vulnerability that Olivia brought to the stage in this part stand-up, part story-telling, part audience-participation hybrid show. To sum up succinctly: I really freakin’enjoyed myself and highly recommend people check this snappy, honest and original performance at Fringe.
