What I liked
So many incredible performers! Really amazing to witness so much talent.
What I didn't like
Unfortunately the sound was tricky; the wireless mics were giving a lot of feedback and while it was amazing to have so many live instruments sharing the stage, if the actors and vocalists weren’t miced, we couldn’t hear the text. Fortunately the performances we strong so I could understand what was happening emotionally, but I lost the words themselves. Thankfully there is a Spotify cast album!
My overall impression
An ambitious production featuring dancers, hip hop, singing, and an orchestra of live instrumentalists. The music was excellent and the story was relatable, seeking something from others when you need to look inward, especially amidst tragedy, can’t we all relate on some level?
