What I liked

Actors SLAYED this at the show I saw. Staging was so good using the space upstairs and down at the production’s advantage. The lighting felt gloomy and such in a way that, if a show is trying to do a nearly-accurate adaptation of Poe’s work on a stage, this came so close. The costumes were perfect! I also liked the dancer/movement raven person. What they/she did was very nice.

What I didn't like

I think I get why the general lighting design was so dim. If it was for the overall vibe of the show’s intent, it worked! It was beautiful…the lighting design that the production/director (?) wanted did work for the Vision In Mind.

But it was also sooo dim, and maybe it would be okay to bring up a touch more light so we can see more costume details and see more of the actors throwing down when they are not in the bits of lighting that had the equivalent of spotlight light, if that makes sense?

My overall impression

Surprisingly moving and intense (at parts). Actors SLAYED. Staging was, if a bit dim with lights the whole show, it worked! Loved how the production used the 2-level aspect of the space to complete advantage. And OMG how this production Queered “The Raven” which is perfect timing for Pride!
