Rectangles

What I liked

Maddie’s interaction with the crowd was a refreshing take on clowning. She has a healing and vulnerable energy that makes it easy to confront the difficult things with her and ultimately laugh about it all.

What I didn't like

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Rectangles in its early stages and was blown away by Maddie’s evolution and tightening of the performance. It has been enjoyable at every leg of the journey but has definitely reached its potential.

My overall impression

Maddie has a unique ability to make you laugh and cry and laugh again about life in every sense through something as simple and unserious as pooping. Rectangles is undoubtedly relatable as it bounces between joy and horror with Maddie leading the audience through life’s many ordeals.
