What I liked
Everything – Incredible music and dance. I was captivated with this show from start to finish! It’s a fully realized show, it’s about something. It’s about reclaiming yoga from the appropriation of the colonizers. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE PIECE OF WORK and it works so well on so many levels. I feel so incredibly fortunate to have been in Ms. Bhandari’s audience. This is one of the best things I’ve seen this fringe. This show did EXACTLY what theater is supposed to do. It grabbed the audience by the throat from the moment the lights went out at the beginning and took us on a ride. We care about the character, we care about her story, she plays the deities and ALL the other characters that populate this world effortlessly. We feel her power as an artist! Her energy feeds us and we feed it back to her and that’s when theater becomes transcendent. She created a community with her show and everybody in that space knew it, felt it and was fortunate to have been a part of it!!!!
