I loved her spark & willingness to create art from her pain. That takes real guts! The role of artist is to reflect the human condition, and Heather’s honesty & courage to show vulnerability are truly impressive. Heather’s love for her family & ability to create this show & keep it full of laughs helped with the story of so many gut-wrenching truths.
What I didn't like
Through no fault of her own, her mic was feeding back, to the point she chose to completely forego it. I think there was an issue with whoever was in the booth. Also, her presentation of personal photos & assorted images projected on-screen behind her were not presented in coordination with her cues. This, too, the issue of whomever was in the booth. Conclusion: the person in the booth should pay more attention.
My overall impression
Ms. Fink draws from her life experiences, creating a one-woman-show which urges the audience to challenge norms in life & “the business,” & talk about the journey of illness & death.
