What I liked

Two stand out moments for me were the actual demon itself being shown halfway through the piece, which was truly one of the creepiest things I’ve seen in theatre, absolutely brilliant! Added, Kristin Joy Moran performance of her last song in the piece, “Mom’s Lullaby”, was simply beautiful.

My overall impression

Kristin Joy Moran illuminates in this harrowing tale of living through a generational family curse, the Futakuchi Onna. She heals through understanding, lives through her life hiccups, and finds what really matters through the scope of where the curse originates from: our own inner demons. The audience is shown that we can heal through our own inner voices of malace and that we can turn the key on our own thoughts to change the perspective of life itself. Kristin Joy Moran’s writing in this piece is truly special, and her artistry is on full display with her gorgeous piano work, her vivacious spirit and her captivating emotion.
