I’ll Be With You In A Minute is a beautiful, moving and most human account of a woman handling her mother’s early onset Alzheimer’s while balancing her own health and various aspects of her life. Written and performed with such grace, vulnerability and courage Grove’s play reminds audiences that we are more connected than not in the unexpected moments life presents us with. Directed with the lightest and most poignant touch by Terra Mackintosh, I’ll Be With You In A Minute invites audiences into the fragile, unknown and complicated areas of life with a sense of care so rarely felt in the theatre. ...

There are times when art reveals feelings that you did not know you had, emotions repressed beyond self-recognition by the quotidian need to function in the face of implacable inefficacy and hopelessness. Natalie Grove’s original, intensely labile script and her one-woman performance reified my own disruptive coping strategy in caring for my demented wife. Her mother, like my incarnate wife, is a ghostly victim of Alzheimer's irreparable injustice. Despite the absence of the real protagonist in this reveal, Ms. Grove fills a nearly barren stage with her mother’s powerful effect on those who love and remember her.
The side effects of the disease reach far beyond its immediate victim. Eschewing pure pathos, Ms. Grove evokes a humorous...

What a beautiful gift to us! Natalie is easy and playful in her exploration of this difficult topic. I'll Be With You In A Minute orbits the heartbreaking reality of caring for a parent with dementia with surprising humor and coyness. Natalie's emotional connection to this journey is clear, but isn't the "main point." She finds childlike joy even as we see the parent-child reversal happen before our very eyes. She finds hope mirrored back through the darkness. Highly, highly recommend treating yourself to this show. ...

This is a festival-stopping show. Everyone needs to go and see how one actor can craft a story that is not only dynamic to watch, but emotional and filled with hope and tragedy all at the same time. From the moment she entered the stage to the moment she walked off, I was captivated. Natalie is funny in subtle ways that allow an audience to be draw into her words and then surprised by her own reactions to the situation she is describing. I would watch this show again and again and again. ...

This show was absolutely incredible, not only was Natalie so inspiring, but the show itself was produced really well. I have seen my fair share of one woman shows, and this by far exceeded all expectations. It was extremely heartfelt and gut wrenching while at the same time incredibly humorous, which is a hard to balance. I’m so proud of Natalie and everyone who helped make this show a reality. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to see the humanity in the world. ...

Natalie, and I’ll Be With You In a Minute draws you in right away and keeps you engaged from start to finish. It’s sad, funny, anxious and even scientific. I think everyone in the audience laughed and cried at least once. I particularly loved the research she must have put into the neurological details. Well written and well acted. Go see it....

The moment the music begins and Natalie enters, you instantly know you will be in for a truly cerebral experience. The show ebbs and flows, each moment determining the next. The deep emotions shared by the actor/playwright had me wanting to leap from my chair and soothe them. With direction from Terra McKintosh, Natalie shows the power of absolute vulnerability, and with that, creates an experience that is undeniably universal. Whether or not you have ever known or cared for anyone experiencing memory loss and/or cognitive decline, "I'll Be With You In A Minute," drops you into that world, where you feel every moment of fear, anxiety over your future, sadness, loss, grief, and joy, and unconditional love....

Brilliantly written and performed and the best solo show I’ve ever seen. Natalie creates an unforgettable atmosphere of mental torment that somehow manages to make you laugh?? Watch her do it and you’ll explore a whole range of emotions and liminal spaces that come as close to embodying dementia as a sane person dares to. A must see for those who engage with Alzheimer’s, anxiety, vulnerability, or mental health — but also anyone....
