Waiting for [Gal] Gadot by Jake Thomas

vivi thai · June 29, 2026 uncertified reviewer
I wasn't sure what to expect from a parody of Waiting for Godot, and this did not disappoint. Quite the opposite, it was funny, smart, relevant, and at times surpassed the original (don't get mad, Beckett!) in its beautiful message: the process of creating art is as, if not more important than the "product" itself. The best show to end my Hollywood Fringe 2026 experience!... full review

Good Girl

This show is one of the bravest, if not THE bravest one I've seen at Hollywood Fringe - an unflinching reveal of how her marriage disintegrates. Mimi does something very unique: she tells her story without defensiveness nor justification. She admits she stayed too long after the lies, and she makes no excuses for it. She simply exposes, literally, the truth of what happened, and it is remarkable. Phenomenal, vulnerable, incredible work done by a master performance artist. ... full review

Combining two solo shows was an interesting move that paid off well. Two shows about searching for identity in different ways were relatable and poignant for the times we are living in now. ... full review

What a wonderful show to watch! Pam is riveting as she takes you through her life with her two children and how she got there, after not wanting kids. She is a captivating performer who is unflinching in her truth, which makes the show deeper than it may seem on the surface. See this if you want to laugh and have feels!... full review

F*cking Famous

This show was so fantastically FUN!!! Molly commands the audience, literally, as the show requires real participation from the many members. It's not as fun if the audience is not on board, and she makes it happen in a wonderful and charming way. You can't help but get swept up in it. Go see this show to laugh, cringe, and have all the feels. Sit in front if you wanna join in!... full review

Black Bag Job

This play was wonderful in its ability to get you to experience what it must be like to secretly record a public figure. The tone and dynamics between characters came alive in this piece. It made me immediately want to learn more about Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination! Get there early to read the very creative program.... full review

ARMY BRAT

Watching this show gave me a good glimpse into Kelly as a person. It is a vulnerable encapsulation of what growing up with an unhealed military father is like. Kelly uses photos, video, music, and dance to paint you a picture of her life. She is open and honest, which shines throughout the story.... full review

If you love dogs, this is the show for you! A very sweet and somber show about two dogs in the shelter system from different perspectives, including the dogs'. I learned a lot about the shelter system and the stress that can lead to "bad" dogs. It made me want to volunteer!... full review
