The title to Derek Heeren's solo show is just flat-out bloody creative. "I Suck - A Vampire Comedy," is equal parts brilliant, charming and funny AF, but one thing's for sure, it does not suck. In a perfect world, I would love every night to be like "Something Spooky," Jon Schnitzer's latest brilliantly clever and dark work of paranormal comedy. Loaded with good laughs, spooky stories, special effects, and true paranormal video footage, this show is a gift to fans of horror films, the occult and the world of the esoteric. Shahin Sayadi's "Ritual Music to Cure a Lover" is one of the most fascinating performances of this year's festival. Sayadi is quite mesmerizing as he explores in fine detail, an ancient Persian love poem, and brings it full circle into modern day culture, with a pointed light directed at the youth of Iranian society. You're doing yourself an injustice if you don't join Shahin Sayadi on his impeccably staged journey.... full review

You will not stop thinking about Edib Farhan's beautiful and bubbly intergalactic "Syrian Soap" for a long time to come. This hilarious and charming show, which is part clown, stand up and improv, explores ancestry and politics, keeping its darker roots under cover and well-soaked in comedy, not unlike the political satires and absurdist theatre of Post -WWII. "Emotional Alpha" is a very clever and very funny male-centric solo performance. Andrew Knox stands out on top for his bold and effortlessly over-the-top portrayal of Eleos Richards, a "licensed male emotions specialist." Knox's character may be big and bold, but each time he morphs into song, he will melt your heart (even if you don't want to admit it). One of the most anticipated musicals of the Fringe, based on one of the worst films ever made, "Nilbog: The Troll 2 Musical," is worth the wait. Pamela Eberhardt's "Strait Jacket Sirens" could very well be described as "Big Doll House" at Lilith Fair. This show features four rocking powerhouse female singers, and they bring the comedy goods. They have all been wrongly imprisoned by bumbling, idiotic men (aka, men) tossed into straight jackets and electric shock collars and they're ready to rock you with some great 90's female indi hits. For lovers of cabaret and Broadway musicals, Kelly Krauter’s “Rosie’s Turn” stands in a light where few can follow. Hutcheson has arrived from New York City with a performance that is charming, very funny, and very personal. What sets this piece apart is the stellar writing.
