I will never look at Lurch and Rosie the Robot the same way ever again.
The Real Housekeepers of Studio City is laugh-out-loud funny. An incredibly talented cast brings some of TV land's most beloved characters (and tropes) to the stage in this hour long musical that's not to be missed. ...

The Third Date

I think we've all had evenings exactly like "The Third Date," and that's part of why I enjoyed it so much. The script (delivered with spot-on comic sense by a solid cast) captures perfectly the awkwardness of the "getting to know you" process that is dating. This show is light, fluffy (in a good way) and earnest. At 40 minutes, it's also an easy fit for anyone's crowded Fringe schedule and certainly worth checking out. ...

This was an enjoyable production. Now, I'm a firm believer in "show, don't tell," and this script is four individuals recalling the same series of events from their own perspectives (all "tell", no "show"), so this wasn't quite my type of show. That being said, the performances were good, the individual character arcs were interesting (if a bit one-dimensional) and the script had humor and charm. So check it out! ...

The edgiest piece of theatre I've ever seen. The other attempts to bring the works of Sade to the stage I've watched fall woefully short of where this Brazilian troupe went. Bravo to the cast and crew for their daring, bold performance. Buyer beware - read the disclaimer and take heed; they're not joking. For the strong of heart (and stomach) only. ...

I hate horror flicks, so I was a little nervous before I sat down to see Exorcistic. However, I saw Orgasmico's "Doomsday Cabaret" last year and was really impressed, so I thought I'd give this a shot. I'm glad I did.
This show is a very clever, eloquently low-tech theatrical knockout. It is to the Exorcist what Scary Movie should have been to other horror movies. I laughed my ass off for 80 minutes straight. Laura Sperrazza absolutely steals the show as Megan O'Neil/herself/the demon. Musica...

Great, heartfelt one-man show by voice over legend Bill Ratner about seeing the truth behind the glitz and glamor of Hollywood through the eyes of his uncle, a former TV regular. Shout out to the spot-on accompaniment by Jonathan Menchin. Don't miss it. ...

Absolutely incredible. Amazing show. There aren't words to describe how much I sincerely enjoyed this experience. My only disappointment is that I waited so long to see it, and that they're only doing it once at the Fringe this year. ...

INTERNment

Joe Mahon is a chameleon. An actor in the vein of Meryl Streep or Gary Oldman, Mahon nimbly switches between three characters - the bombastic Jack, thuggish Riddick and spineless Charles - as he presents to us, his audience of "interns," a typical day in a casting office. You will laugh, and actors in the audience may just cringe a little bit as all of his characters peel back the curtain on "The Industry," revealing its dirty secrets and seedy underside. Mahon's performance is nuanced, calculate...

This is not the first time I'd seen Tales of the Extraordinary, but I can tell you that this performance was my favorite to date. Strong voice talent, good story, audience interactivity and a band of top notch musicians (Windows to Sky) make for a fun romp through live serial radio!
My only disappointment is that I can't attend the next two episodes... but I will subscribe to their podcast!
Worth seeing! ...

The first 15 minutes can be really off-putting if you don't know what you're in for. It's awkward in a wonderful, wonderful way. Brett Colbeth is 100% committed and absolutely unflappable as he delivers a passionate Christian sermon. In the performance I attended, he didn't even bat an eyelash when a patron that was clearly feeling misled about the nature of the show, started talking back to him, then got up and walked out. (The patron didn't know that the sermon was all part of the show, and ret...
