The version I saw was the longer 'mostly staged' adaptation, and I took my viewing in context accordingly; so scripts in hand didn't bother me. And, actually, that scripts were often in hand but that the performances were still effective speaks very well to the cast. I really enjoyed the play, it was both thematically gruesome and fun, with good ideas about how to present violence and transition. ... full review

'Oh what a paradise, living in fear...' Solo plays are not easy feats, and they're largely not for audiences unwilling to invest their attention; short of a full-on intentional stand-up routine they typically demand more of those watching. For audiences willing to engage they can be a real treat. As a streamer I was jealous of those there, in person, because that was the experience I wanted to have. This is a great way to knock out 30 minutes while you’re enjoying Fringe that also provides some insight. In a lot of ways this is a sort of ‘ideal’ Fringe show, in my mind; an avant-garde playground that offers some legitimate mental sustenance. I recommend it!... full review

I’m very impressed with what this ensemble has pulled off. This is just so much fun. There’s a reason this show’s selling out and that reason is fairly won. Particularly for geeks like me COMIC-CON THE MUSICAL offers a loving and breezy reminder of why being a nerd is a fine thing. (much longer review with the link!)... full review
