A relatable and funny show with a lot of heart. This show really had it all for me. The cultural tidbits and sprinkling of Armenian words and of course, Vartoush, all add so much flair - it has a My Big Fat Greek Wedding vibe, though there were NO weddings. Phew! The show has Shelley Cooper’s signature beautiful singing and her distinct style of solo theater focusing on strong, misunderstood, and maybe forgotten, artists of the past. In this case, she is showcasing the fascinating and heart wrenching life of Lotte Lenya, who I knew nothing about going in, but after seeing this show, I feel compelled to learn more! This was so much fun! A lot of solid character sketches with all around great physicality by the actors. One entrances and exists sketch that was hilarious and worked very well! Loved this show. ... full review
