Mitch is such a lovely, smart storyteller with a very interesting story. His love story with his wife is probably the most heartwarming thing I’ve ever witnessed. Growing up in a community that is more or less homophobic, I understood what Jair was talking about and have seen very similar treatment of friends and loved ones. It broke my heart to hear the way he had to suppress his true self for such a long time, even going as far as marrying a woman. It was really fascinating, raw and vulnerable theater. Shelley has a gorgeous operatic voice and a command of the stage. She really embodies Maria Callas so beautifully and accurately. And, yet, she's not mimicking and she's really making Callas her own. This show should be seen by young girls and women. There’s so much I personally identified with. I can go on and on about the kind of shit I deal with in my own community. Tanya does a great job of describing her own struggles. I’ve known women who put on fair and lovely and I only wish I could show them this play!! ... full review

By the end of the show you understand the monumental task of a teacher and how they truly are unsung heroes. Sadly, teaching is an under appreciated and yet such an important profession in society. The ending and last line of the play are so wonderfully satisfying. I love how he imparts wisdom onto his audience throughout the play. I found myself nodding my head a lot in agreement. Johnny definitely has a lot of wisdom to share in this play. ... full review
