An impressive piece of writing about an heroic woman we should all know, admire and emulate - but who was left out of the history books. I truly appreciate a play that finds someone like Mary Seacole and brings her to life to enrich ours. Elegant performance by Amy Argyle playing a character who maintains her dignity through challenge after challenge. Twon Pope brought a nice energy and passion to Marry’s brother, Edward, and Emilie Martz gave a solid contrast to Mary as the envious and controll... full review

Top to bottom laughter from a brilliantly written show that exhausted my body, mind, and soul with joy. Outstanding, spot-on performances from all four one-person-show contestants/performers and contest host parodying the genre as an indulgent fusion of sentimental self-pity and sensational self-aggrandizement. This hour flies by, and, before you know it, you’re back in your home, shredding the notes you’d written about your own one-person show concept… Well done, Mr. Hanna! ... full review

Amelia's Going Down

I enjoyed AMELIA'S GOING DOWN. An interesting notion to explore what may have happened if Amelia and navigator, Fred Noonon, had survived the crash, but landed in a place so remote that rescue was unlikely. Set as a radio play, complete with live foley (which was a nice touch, tastefully done), Amelia and Fred each face down their own demons, particularly well done with strength and subtly by Jason Britt as Noonan confronting his battle with alcohol. The actors are not bound to the prop microphon... full review
