Her Rage

Since the show was mostly in Mandarin (and unfortunately the subtitles had a technical difficulty) I needed to tap into other ways of understanding the show. Though knowing what was actually being said would have gave me another level of processing/understanding (of course). I found that through the acting, the tones of the music/dancing/lighting, use of the Madea character, the little summary I read in the program about the show prior and a few scenes in English connected me to the story of ... full review

Ann and Me: or the big bad abortion play

Jessica is a social justice warrior! I knew a lot of the things she was talking about but I also learned so much. I was unfamiliar with Ann Lohman but now, like Jessica, I am hooked on learning more! Words cannot describe how powerful, important and well done this piece is. I am grateful I saw it because I left the theater not only entertained but armed with new knowledge and a sense of community. Though the audience I saw the show with was small, they were fabulous! It does make me sad that ... full review

I loved that you can tell that Roxy and Robert put so much heart into this show. They clearly have lived life and have so many amazing stories! You can also tell that they (and so many) loved Deanna Booher (aka Matilda the Hun) and sharing memories/stories both funny and sad, made this show for me. ... full review

Hilarious! Mother Boswick is such a fun character and is unafraid to poke fun at her audience! I loved her brash humor. Clown work can be tough and not always funny, but Mother Boswick had me laughing and smile from start to finish! ...There's a joke in there somewhere! lol Thanks Mother for the laughs! ... full review

A really beautiful, poetic and artistic show. I really enjoyed the chemistry between the two characters. In the round theater can be tricky but overall I thought it was handle well, creating a very intimate theater experience. It's one of those shows where I understood the overall story but would like to watch again to then dive deeper since it is a very layered experience. ... full review

Slap Ass Friday

Hilarious! Kaitlyn is such a talented performer and writer! The show is layered, fun, nostalgic and high energy. She talks about the body image issues that so many women and young girls struggle with. As well as how toxic masculinity and the seeking of that approval of the "bad boy" can make women/girls twist themselves into pretzels to try and obtain it. How that makes so many girls/women lose themselves in the chase but what a powerful end moment when starts to reclaim herself and her power. ... full review
