The perfect Fringe show?? Let's see: funny as fuck, stupid as fuck, completely ridiculous, always entertaining, two very strong performers, airtight comedy, left-field subject matter, nimble physicality, rollerskating, adventures into outer space, Greek myth, those weird Eyes Wide Shut-style masks, Foley artistry, and that thing where the actors go into the audience, but not in an obnoxious way like other shows have done time and time again. If ragtime music was as popular today as it was in 1899, Eve Elliott would be Taylor Swift. She's a singular piano playing talent and it's a real pleasure to watch her perform. She makes it look effortless. She's also a very charming storyteller and honestly, I learned a lot about the titans of ragtime music from this show.... full review

They need to take this show on the road. In one hour, the "True Events" team put together a show that's very funny where you really care about the characters that's presented in an innovative way. I didn't know what I was getting into, but I left feeling like I reeled in the big fish of the festival. I think "This Show is Surrounded by True Events" might be my favorite HFF show since the pandemic.... full review

See it! The Planet Earth Farewell Concert operates on a Fringe budget, but has grand ambitions. It pulls off the trick of making you laugh and keeping you in good spirits while simultaneously presenting you with sobering, not funny realities. That's not an easy thing to do. In all my years of seeing Fringe shows, I've never seen a show take so many risks and pull off guerilla-style antics. For that alone I knew I was watching something special.... full review

As someone who has read the novel five times, I can say with some authority that this is a faithful, if modern, re-imagining of the book's first chapter. The tensions between Daisy and Tom are made ever the more uncomfortable when you're faced with joining them at the dinner table rather than reading from the comfort of your sofa at home.
