The Visitor

It is a rare ghost story that is both frightening and poignant. The Visitor achieves both - not only to provoking screams but also ringing emotional chords.... full review

Last Call's Worlds Collide

Last Call's Worlds Collide offers fan service for those familiar with the theatre company, but the resulting story is really a stand-alone effort, not a multi-verse mélange of established characters encountering each other while their universes collide. There is plenty of up-close interaction, a fair degree of audience autonomy, and just enough structure to bind the improvised threads into a satisfying whole. This approach is definitely not for audiences who expect that cast to do all the heavy l... full review

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring: Extended Edition: Part 3

steve biodrowski · June 27, 2025 certified reviewer
The idea seems incredibly dumb – a single performer acting out a three-hour movie live – but instead it’s incredibly funny. Even more incredibly, instead of wearing out its welcome, Part 3 of Riley Smith’s rendition of Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring: Extended Edition turns out to be even more charming than the first. A Story as Old as Time

steve biodrowski · July 03, 2024 certified reviewer
This aims to be a good, old-fashioned horror-comedy and largely succeeds. It’s not quite "Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy," but this tale of mysterious murders tied to an Egyptian exhibit definitely has its tongue in its bandaged cheek.... full review

Dinosaurs

steve biodrowski · July 02, 2024 certified reviewer
Dinosaurs achieves the seemingly impossible feat of mining PTSD and sexual abuse for comedic purposes. It certainly helps that the humor is not directed at the subject matter but rather used as a shield that allows the sensitive topic to be brought to light and examined. It also helps that the catalyst to exploring the trauma is a talking, intelligent dinosaur.... full review

Did I Just Join A Cult?

steve biodrowski · June 30, 2024 certified reviewer
Absolutely engrossing one-man show about an immersive theatrical experience that feels more than a little too authentic, leaving its narrator to wonder whether he has indeed joined a cult.... full review

The Transpiring

steve biodrowski · June 29, 2024 certified reviewer
The show gets a fair amount of comic mileage out of a deliberately overbaked premise. It's not enough that the orphan reunited with her birth family has to explain that she is now a trans-woman; she's also a vampire! Which will her family have a harder time accepting?... full review
