Full disclosure: I'm a fan of Woody Allen's books (Side Effects, Getting Even, Horse Feathers). This one is a dramatized version of a story from Getting Even. Seeing it live was great. It's smart and sly (early Woody has these absurdist descriptions that stem from the mind of a Jewish kid from Brooklyn), but also gave room for moments of broad comedy (also indicative of early Woody). HILARIOUS, SMART, IRREVERENT -- FUN! There's so much that could go sideways with sketch shows from the uneven nature of hit-or-miss sketches, but this had none of that.
