Delightful! Wonderful! I loved this show so much! Though I'm not deeply familiar with the original film, I wouldn't exactly define the show as a "parody"...it felt more like an homage, designed as a comedic and heartfelt musical adaptation. Terrific songs, clever lyrics, fueled by a compelling narrative. Performed by a very talented cast. Bravo and brava to all involved!...

Kudos for White Lilies! The play is a gripping two-hander (well, maaaaybe a three-hander ; ) ) centering around the fragile bonds of family. The production grabbed me right away with an utterly convincing piece of stage magic that haunted the story all the way to its startling conclusion. The play is tightly written, full of conflict and heartache, a tale of two brothers and the recent history that draws them together while pushing them apart. There are a number of well-placed twists and reve...

Unplugged Electric Guitar is a poignant drama filled with heart and humor, wonderfully nuanced in both its storytelling and finely drawn characters, brilliantly performed by its talented cast. I saw the preview performance and I’m still thinking about the play over a week later. The play’s two acts—separated by time and circumstances—are connected by the journey of central character Danny— sensitively portrayed by the playwright Danny Rocco. Act I explores an awkward and tender reconnection be...

In Coffee Date, Jonah Weiland has crafted a brilliant, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy. Hilarious with lots of heart and occasional naughtiness. The four characters are wonderfully designed, and the story is full of fun surprises, reveals and twists. The acting and directing are fantastic. Bravo!...

Abby Normal is an uplifting and inspiring coming of age musical that explores epilepsy and the fear it generates. There's an important and empowering message that runs through the story as protagonist Abby refuses to let her epilepsy define her. This is ultimately the show's universal theme--not letting a medical condition define and limit us. Abby Normal is an impactful piece of theatre performed by a talented cast. This musical deserves a long life on the stage....

This show blew my mind. Literally. Watching this show was like having my mind fellated in a ship lost at sea, with twenty of my best friends (all sharing a private joke from which I'd been partially excluded) filing in and out of my cabin talking about their problems and issues and back stories and shooting Nerf darts while in the adjacent cabin a police investigation with homoerotic overtones is taking place and on the main deck musical numbers are in full swing. The rootbeer flowed freely an...

This is a wildly funny, entertaining and moving solo show. Using the framework of a boxing match, Ms. Schachner takes the audience through her crazy childhood in suburban Ohio, centering around her parents' separation and the "Schacnher vs. Schachner" of the title. But at a deeper level, it's a battle between her present self and the confusing, contradictory childhood memories that continue to haunt her. Engaging multimedia keep the show lively and full of surprises. This show is a winner! ...
