LOS ANGELES, CA — The Hollywood Fringe Festival brings us HOT YOGA, a new dark comedy written by and starring Ruby Marker and directed by Daisy Tichenor. The production was originally developed at Outside In Theatre and now makes its official debut at Bad Ladder in Hollywood, playing from June 9 through June 27, 2026

HOT YOGA is a one-woman show that takes place during a live, interactive 50-minute yoga class. Ruby Marker plays Marie, a yoga teacher from a small town with outsized Hollywood dreams. Audience members can watch as what starts as a wellness class slowly unravels into something far more personal, funny, and horrifying.

HOT YOGA is optionally immersive: audience members may choose to participate in the yoga class alongside Marie or observe from general seating.

Director Daisy Tichenor is excited to return to the Fringe this summer, “I think a lot of us dreamers will relate to Marie’s willingness (and struggle) to do the work. HOY YOGA honors, satirizes, and twists the relationships inside of close-knit sleepy towns, and our own expectations of our community.”

“There was a lot about living in a small town as a person with big issues that could make it feel suffocating.” Playwright Ruby Marker is thrilled to be making her Hollywood Fringe Debut with such a personal piece. “I’ve loved developing this show as an ode to everyone who has a love-hate relationship with where they grew up. I think the place where we come from often has more of a hold on us than anywhere we could run to.”

Ruby Marker has been a Writer’s PA for THE SEX LIVES OF COLLEGE GIRLS on HBO, PULSE on Netflix, LANGDON (w/t) on Netflix, and is currently Brutus Pink’s two upcoming animated comedy shows.
