The Griff was founded to offer a venue for theater professionals in Los Angeles a space in which they could work safely, physically, and creatively during and after the Covid19 Pandemic. This theater space is designed for artistic experimentation and ideal for streaming creative works to the community and beyond, nurturing new/original works, including, but not limited to, one person, future fringe productions, music, comedy, storytelling, and poetry. The venue is a 28 seat theater, featuring a 10.5′ × 25′ stage, dressing area, alley access, full stage lighting, PA system, projector, screen, and Apple computers with Q-lab software pre-installed.
There is a small backstage dressing area with access to a private, outdoor space. Limited storage is also available in the outdoor space, the dressing area, and the lighting booth on the second level.
We have live, video-streaming support, presently including a "Mevo Start" web camera with an internal microphone, as well as additional house mics over the stage. We also offer directors and stage managers the ability to adjust frame size in real-time, via a mobile device (bring your own or use ours). The Griff is available for live and pay-per-view services, streaming directly to Vimeo for audiences to join the show in progress. The material is then archived for unlimited viewing (free or PPV) after the live performance.
Hand sanitizer dispensers, gloves, and masks will be provided. We schedule cross-ventilation windows between each client using the space. Our space is designed with socially-distanced seating arrangements. Audiences are required to wear masks.
We have live streaming capabilities included in the rental of the space, which consists of 1 camera with live re-framing and zooming.
