Changting Lu

I live to create stories and experiences that can inspire people, even a little bit, on important questions they have to face to survive in this world. Growing up in a university campus in Beijing, I was immersed in the rich cultural heritage of Chinese civilization, yet trapped in an invisible sandstorm with dust of history and wind of current politics. To find my way out I entered the world of theater as a creative producer and writer-director. Right now I’m an MFA student at California Institute of the Arts. My recent work as a writer-director: The Moon Remembers (2017 @Beijing & Shanghai). Recent work as a creative producer: THE END, THE END, THE END…, a devised physical theater piece created by multi-national artists ensemble (2017 @Edinburgh Fringe); Uncapturable, an interdisciplinary performance of dance and painting (2018 @ CalArts).
